The CEIRR Animal Surveillance Meeting was held on November 15th and 16th at the Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. The meeting discussed current risk assessment related activities both internal and external to CEIRR and gaps and needs in these existing tools and focus areas. The network used that discussion to inform the development of a plan for the new CEIRR Risk Assessment Pipeline. The four main topics that were discussed as to how they can inform the development of the RAP were:
1. H5 and Surveillance in Wild Animals
2. Domestic Animal Surveillance & Human/Animal Interface
3. In Vivo & In Vitro Phenotypic Characterization
4. Molecular Phylodynamics & Computational Modeling
